Located in Rameswaram, the Neiyathal Nursery was launched with support from TERI & SGP-UNDP to restore the island’s fragile coastal ecosystem. Specializing in mangrove and salt-tolerant plant species, this initiative focuses on protecting the coastline from natural disasters like tsunamis and storms while nurturing local biodiversity. The project also empowers the local community, employing six women and one man, creating sustainable livelihoods through conservation.
